LGFCU SCHOLARSHIPS PROGRAM
Make More Possible
In 2020, LGFCU doubled its investment in its scholarship program at the School of Government.
Through a generous commitment of $100,000 annually, the Credit Union sent members from 66 municipalities and counties to 30 unique courses and certifications offered by the School. The scholarship program awarded 85 total scholarships, with the average award clocking in at $1,118.
Popular courses represented an array of experience levels, ranging from specialty certifications to introductory courses intended to provide a strong foundation in effective governance.
IN THEIR WORDS
“The money awarded helped tremendously. Without the money, I likely would not have been able to pursue the course. This means less out of the county budget and a more knowledgeable staff member.”
—ANGELA JONES
Robeson County Human Resources Director
